SCOTT MOONEY

Learning can be hard when the teaching style doesn’t match the audience’s learning style.

I am among the 33% of the population who learns best by seeing things. And, since another full third of the population are also strong visual learners, 66% of the world can benefit from my strong compulsion to teach with clear compelling illustrated materials.

Helping people learn how to improve life is the driving motivation behind my work. I love to learn and it was a big struggle for me to do so in school. Subjects taught with compelling stories and visuals were the ones that I did well in. Subjects taught by rote memorization or data dumps... not so much. If I could find a way to picture the information in some compelling context, then I could learn it.

This struggle is happening for a lot of learners out there. This is where I wish to serve.

Since before graduating in 1995 with a Honours BA in Fine Art, I’ve been working as a commercial artist, specializing in creating educational illustrated materials. To see a much broader range of the kind of work I do, go to my portfolio site at www.moon-man.com.

My personal fascinations include comics, animated movies and TV, adventurous science fiction stories, off-road cycling, human development and behaviour, biology, practical physics, and mental and physical health… and chocolate.

I live in the vibrant community of Guelph, Ontario, with my wife and dogs. I volunteer to serve a network of support groups in Ontario.
